SCHILLER PARK, Ill. (PIX11) – An Illinois mother has been charged with attempted murder for allegedly trying to murder her children with poisoned apple juice because she was mad at their father.

According to WGN-TV, 29-year-old Krystle El Khatib crushed up benzodiazepine pills, an anti-anxiety drug, into apple juice.

She then forced her 9-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter to drink two glasses each.

El Khatib threatened to hit her son if he didn’t drink the apple juice.

Authorities say she tried to take her own life with a similar cocktail.

Police got involved when the son woke up vomiting and was able to get in touch with his father.

The kids were taken to an area hospital and treated for poisoning.

They are now in the custody of their father.

El Khatib was taken to an area hospital by police.

WGN reports that a criminal complaint against the suburban mother said she “told a social worker at the hospital that she brought her kids into this world and she can take them out.”

Bond has been set for $1.5 million for El Khatib.

  3. to me. I have learned through Christ and by neccessity forgiveness is the only way you can heal and move forward in your life. It does’nt even matter if the other person knows you forgive them it does’nt matter if they care that you forgive them, but to your well being and your mental and spiritual life it means everything. I don’t know how God does it but if you really want to forgive someone and go one with your life God can and will do that with you. Not for you but with you!!

  7. Ich bin zwar kein Friseur, aber ich denke, dass du mit einer Coloration, die vielleicht eine Nuance heller ist als deine jetzige Haarfarbe, den Rotstich minderst und deine Haare etwas heller bekommst. Liebe Grüße
