Uber Driver Arrested For Stealing A Ferrari Worth A Quarter Of A Million Dollars

The ride is over for one Florida Uber driver.

Hilburn Jay Brendon Hunkins is facing a felony grand theft charge for stealing a $250,000 Ferrari, which he took for a joyride on Interstate 75, according to WPTV.

The 26-year-old was pulled over at about 8:30 a.m. on Thursday after an officer spotted a black 2017 Ferrari California with stolen license plates driving slowly down the highway.

The vehicle was driving side-by-side with a red Corvette, a police report revealed.

Hilburn Jay Brendon Hunkins was arrested early on Dec. 28 for stealing a $250,000 Ferrari California, which he claimed belonged to a friend.


Hunkins told police the Ferrari belonged to a friend, however, he was unable to provide a name or number for the alleged acquaintance.

Upon further investigation, the officer learned that the vehicle had been stolen from Palm Beach County.

The Gainesville Police Department gave Hunkins a shout out of sorts on their Facebook page, mocking the many errors he’d made in his attempt to steal the vehicle.

“2. Certainly don’t steal a $250,000 2017 Ferrari California,” the post continued. “2a. Especially when the window sticker is still on it.”
